Shall We Not
Shall we not uncork the wine
and pour a drink or two
Dance barefoot upon the kitchen floor
reminisce the night of Hawaiian beach
when love was young and we were sure
Shall we not dance together
barefoot on the kitchen floor...
Red Eye Gravy
Midnight and the bar is closing
the diner light beacons us
as a moth to flame.
Red eye gravy with biscuits and ham
feast of kings in slight tipsy
Open 24 hours and not many here
the hot coffee black and strong
was tomorrow a work day?
Maybe so, call in sick
got plenty of time...
Short Poem Three
Should write longer poems I guess
but sometimes I like them short
Not much to say but saying it
Just getting to the point
Cold this early morning
frost on the window
A new year
A new day
Put on your shoes and begin.
