Shall We Go For Lunch
You are quiet, yes, but not alone
You crept into the library at night
Snuck out to the cinema to enjoy a B-grade sci-fi - or even a cheesy chick flick
You were among others who enjoyed your company
Not consciously, no, but there was a connection under that layer of thought
You thought you could perhaps crawl under the smoky haze
Take a drag once a while - it smells great! - but never enough to be lost in it
To be blinded by it
You were just one of those people sitting by yourself at the back of the cinema
Hoping for a dip in the ocean but never a full plunge
I hope you'll hold my hand while we jump in together
Shall we go for lunch?
(Dedicated to someone I care for dearly :)
