Shall I Hope

Shall I hope? Is it safe or is it right? Am I hoping for nothing But a black and empty night? Hope should make me happy Hope should make me dance Because I just keep hoping For me. not a chance Why does hope keep leaving me Shaking in the darkness? Why does something so good Keep making me feel so helpless Shall I hope to hope? What difference does it make? Fate, she will soon find me And that will be a big mistake Does fate regard my hope Does she even care Am I shooting for an answer That simply isn't there What sort of hope leaves pain I thought hope should leave joy Why should I dare to hope Cause it's just some demons ploy I do not know, dear people How can I begin to dare To hope for something That simply isn't there Shall I hope to hope In a hope that leaves me dry Oh people,To hope how can I dare To hope in hope? How can I?

Beautiful poem. Hope for me is a vacant place. Sounds nuts?Action and plans and a purpose bigger than me~moves me. Poets here move me, too. And knowing there is a God in charge of it all helps me if I get into the desert of hope. Well written! Love, Panagiota. Have not even used the word 'hope' for years consciously. We create our world. Don't let the world define you.

We always have hope; it is there for us to grab onto so we may fly and shine again. Well penned.

Steve, I like this poem. I like the hopefulness in the hopeful expressions in this hope-filled poem. It is upbeat, and gives me a little hope myself.
