Shall I Ever See God's Face
Bewildered I look up to the sky
So many unanswered questions
As years quickly pass me by
So many different religions
How do I know which one is right
Am I destined to wander aimlessly
Through life like swine towards slaughter
Where do I get the strength so that
My faith does not totter?
Everyone has their own views on who
God truly is but I don't see the love
Amongst his earthly children
Fighting, killing, dying by the sword and
Swear to do so in the name of the Lord
God Almighty to you I implore
For as much as I've seen how can I ignore
Who is, in fact, waging this war?
Is there only one way to reach you? Should I beg for mercy?
For living by the rules of man
Or for trying to live life by rules
I can't fully understand?
What, in fact, is our instruction?
What for us was the original plan?
Dear Father I see so much hurt
In the eyes of man
but who before You
Could honestly stand?
