Shadows of Conformity

Evil thrives under a cone of silence,
keeping a keen ear for the slightest sound.
And will react with violence and threats
to trample any form of protest down.
Truth creates a cacophony of noise
as whispers morph into a crescendo.
But fears fed a constant diet of lies
suppress all queries and innuendo.
By staying quiet, we're invisible,
cloaked in the shadow of normality.
And yet, sowing seeds of complicity,
we reap society's brutality.
Though threats, we're intimated not to shout,
for a fly cannot enter a closed mouth.
