Shadows

Shadows of the past are here;
Hunting, haunting, stalkers of the weak
And eaters of the flesh of the vulnerable.

Watch now, as another falls victim
To the appetite of the insatiable past.

Look now into the angry abyss of the powerful force
Pulling its prey to the hungry jaws of destiny.

Madness is my mother; weakness my paternal gift;
Addiction the price paid to exist.

Out of the walls, out of the floor,
Forth from the windows they pour;
Spewing foul death, stench of pain,
Demanding their blood sacrifice again and again.
