Shadows

I decided long ago
never to walk in anyone's shadow,
they called me a sociopath,
I said you must be having a laugh.

What does that mean?
Just about everything derogatory it would seem;
they must have missed something out,
what would you know what my life's about?

It's about being selfish till the time has gone,
look after no.1 - never mind what you've done;
what did you do wrong, what do you mean -
since when we're you so squeaky clean?

Okay, I should have done better -
easy to say but would have been prettier.
