Shadow Man

Shadow Man

All my faith in anything else
Has gone

Jester at your feet
With the light of my fingers
Entwined in yours
You lead me I follow
One step a head
Always one step behind

I watch your world through shadow cast eyes
Walking with you
Standing side by side
Catching unknown moments
In the aura sunbeam scatters
Of your smiles

Within each and every echo of sorrow
When the longing of your heart
Turns inside
The shades of my comfort
Hold you close
And wrap you in the sympathies of my love

And some day I shall see you
Blazing angel
In the vast countries of dancing freedoms
And there beneath the bright sun crystalline
I will emerge from within the darkened
No more to be the shadow man
And take your hand

But until then my love
I am with you
Shadow in your shadow

All my faith in anything else
Has gone
