-shadow-

Word: Shadow

Standing tall, but only making it so far,
As shadows can only stay on the ground.
We’re no different, so I just play hide and seek,
While following you on your way around.

I just want to be my own human, I want to see
What it’s like to be more than just a shadow.
But I clap my hands over my mouth and cry,
As I am cursed to the ground below.

“Please!” I cry out, “Just let be like you for a day!”
I don’t want to play this game anymore.
But like all shadows, this voice of mine is silent,
But answer me this, what am I here for?

“Open your eyes,” You tell me at one point,
When I was sure I was all alone.
Wiping the tears away, the light shines bright,
In sudden realization, I am gone.
