Shades of Grey

Abundant shades of grey Along my way into the city On full display hypocrisy The gravity of modern living One million heated caves The lighting dots the landscape Absolved from ancient cares Within the lairs retired from frenzied motion Inwardly indifference soothes our minds All entrained by light and sounds Outwardly the tepid coexistence Rife with boundless apathy abounds Race we round about distracted Endlessly most filled with doubt Modern purpose cannot fulfill us Overdue to find another route
