Shades of Green

In ancient woodlands
I am breathless,
hushed beneath lush foliage
and dappling sunlight.
A brook leaps lichen rocks.
Ferns unfurl extending tendrils
to a distant sky.
Pin cushions of moss
carpet the forest.
I am awakened
to colours and textures
of leafy green.

I've always found green to be a soothing color...back to nature I presume. Love your word usage and how serene this feels when I read it....Congrats on your win !!
