Shackles

SHACKLES

FEAR AND DOUBT ARE SHACKLES THAT TIE YOU DOWN
THEY KEEP YOUR FEET LOCKED TO THE GROUND
WHEN THE TRUMPET OF GOD DOES SOUND
HOW CAN YOU GO IF BY SHACKLES YOU ARE BOUND

UNFORGIVENESS AND DISBELIEF ARE SHACKLES TOO
IF BY THEM YOU ARE BOUND YOU ARE SURE TO BE BLUE
WHEN BEFORE GOD YOU STAND WHAT WILL YOU DO
IF THESE SHACKLES ARE ATTACHED TO YOU

GOD CAN TAKE THE SHACKLES AWAY
IF HIM YOU WILL TRUST AND OBEY
ACCEPT HIM INTO YOUR HEART TODAY
TRUE TO HIM ALWAYS STAY

                                                     RUTH PHIPPS
