Severed Search

Seven Savvy Sirens
formed a formidable fraternity
of pure-passion purpose
for female fatales.

Murder-minded maids
promised patient pursuit
of tensile tangled truth
while warily watching
crafty crook's coup.

But, busted and bested,
dames drink despair
like lambs laid lame
in trickster's thorny trap.

Not really. It wrote itself. It is a takeoff from a murder mystery I wrote about a reading club, "The Wednesday Club," of women who were continually pushing their noses in police business to "help" solve the murder of one member of their club.

Thank you so much Dorian. The Sirens were members of a Wednesday reading club, who constantly drove the Police nuts by attempting to help them solve murder mysteries. : - )
