Seven Workings of the Blood
SEVEN WORKINGS OF THE BLOOD
Many people hear 'the Blood'
But knoweth not its great workings
So in this small scoop of poetry
I will try to share the seven things
That the Blood does for us
Not that I have known it all
But because I have received
A choicy measure of God's grace
And pray and seek I will for more
For Christ has grace enough to spare.
All have sinned and fallen short
Of God's glory and divine standard
And as written- and very clear
The wages of every sin is death
So we all were meant to die;
God's righteous judgement for our sins
But here we see the love of Christ
For by His death, God's righteous anger
Was satisfied- fully satisfied.
The second wondrous thing is this;
If we confess that we have sinned
And truly ask to be cleansed
God is faithful and He is just
To forgive us of every sin
For the price indeed has been paid.
Sin indeed contaminates
So when we sin we are stained
The Blood of Christ does this to us;
It purges us of every sin
So that we are without dirt
And are righteous just like Him.
But we see this often and on
That often times when we pray
We feel unworthy- guilty conscienced
Here, the Blood of Christ is sprinkled
On every bit of guilty conscience
So we can be confident
To approach the throne of grace.
But this we know with surety
That every thing we do on earth
Is recorded in the books of Heaven
Here, God Himself is moved
To blot out every record of sin
Such that there is no book in Heaven
Where our sins are recorded.
Omniscient is His name
And as such, God knows all things
So every sin we commit on earth
Is registered in God's memory
But He, Himself has declared
That after blotting out our sins
He will forget we ever sinned
And will never fish for our sins
In His sea of forgotten sins.
So after all these things are done
We come to the seventh working
That been justified by His Blood
We will escape His fiery wrath
For everyone who refuses to drink
Of His cup of loving mercy
Will inevitably drink to the full
Of God's cup of eternal wrath.
So, right now, if you would,
Say this prayer and be redeemed
"Lord Jesus, I am a sinner
I believe You died for me
Please forgive me and cleanse my sins
Come into my life
And make me Your beloved child
Thank You for right now You are
My Father and loving Saviour
In Jesus mighty name I pray
Amen!" and indeed Amen!
