Seven Days

Seven days and seven nights have passed since ere I slept
But there came the messenger with the message that was kept
Days of old and days of new leaped from the written page
What was coming; what is coming; what’s the cause of all the rage?

Seven days and seven nights it took to find what’s right
But all too many saw me walk and thought I’d lost my sight
In the past I hurried, racing with the cars
Now what I see is settled; it is far beyond the stars

Seven days and seven nights now exist in time gone by
Far beyond this day and night and far beyond the sky
I wondered, had I plundered or done what good I should?
I wasn’t sure which way to go even though I could

Seven days and seven nights I wrestled, was it real?
But the message from the messenger is sealed with a seal
I found the way to break the seal and the mystery is sure
The message is for me and you, powerful and pure
Though it took me seven days to find out what is right
The life that can’t be lost is mine, now I’m carrying God’s light

John: This lovely work reminded me of the old saying: Seven days without Jesus makes one weak. Thank you so much for sharing this experience. oldbuck

Thank you so much. I appreciate your comment and encouraging words. Actually one day without Jesus makes us weak. The washing with water by the Word is so important to wash us of the effects of the world. God's blessings to you.
