Seven Days
And so it goes, these seven days
Waking up as my music plays,
A new beginning, one of many
A place to start, as good as any
The second day is rarely bad …
Enjoying whatever weather we'd had,
While checking the mail for a letter
Taking a breath and feeling better
Quietly, in comes the third …
With a silence that is rarely heard,
Turning off the screen I see
To read and write some poetry
On day four, the sun drifts slowly by
Always into the western sky …
Passed the middle of the hill
With a way and it's own will
Folly and fun fills day five
With simple things to feel alive,
As shadows move down my street
Finding me in a reclining seat
Now I lay me down to sleep
Snuggled in my bed so deep,
Tired after day number six
All in all, an eclectic mix
I find myself in a dreamy heaven
When it comes down to day seven,
Nothing extraordinary, nothing unique
And so it goes … another week.
