Setting Sun

I race for summer's setting sun
as crimson bleed the alder leaves
in late September’s crisp blazon.

I race for summer's setting sun
across the low unbroken run
past pyramids of flaxen sheaves.

I race for summer's setting sun
as crimson bleed the alder leaves.
