Setting Sun

Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: Setting Sun
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written: May/2011

Oh sun
I see you
in the
distance -

slipping
away
as you fade
behind
the hills -

I know
that
the time is
near -

For
the brightness
from
your light
to
go dim -

And
when
it's all
 said
and done -

Darkness
will come -

So I say
so long
and
farewell
to the
setting
sun -

Hi Ken, I would like to extend my hand in welcome to the PoetrySoup community. I love your poem - saying farewell to the setting sun - it shows appreciation for creation. Most people just take it for granted that the sun is there. Very well written! There’s a lot to learn from each other here and hopefully you will have a great time while at it. Feel free to drop me a line when you can. I am looking forward to reading more from you. Vicky.
