King Henry VIII accomplished countless positive reformations in areas of religion, politics and military but at what expense? The great setback is the estimated 72,000 people executed who stood in the way of his accomplishments.

King Henry VIII was crowned in 1533 at the age of 17.  During his reign, the king’s court learned to bow to his every wish and decision. Two days after his coronation, he arrested two ministers entrusted by his father and promptly executed them. Henry would seek advisers on most matters but would eventually end these relationships by seizing absolute control.  It was only a matter of time before those who offered ideas contrary to the king – would lose their heads!
