Set To Bloom

Crippled A blanket spread across this lonely land Comfort for this desolate snow drift But when peace is disrupted The blanket shifted And with the soothing kiss of time The scar shall be brushed into the past Then the fog would lazily settle This detested sloth of nature A spineless giant A slave of gravity With overgrown Wings of cob-web feathers But when nearby leaves would rustle A signal for the winds to roar by To assault away this web of time To force those wings to flutter Raise this fog away from the beckoning earth To soar into the skies And nestle amongst the clouds Thus the winds would fade And looking down This universal giver Satisfied beyond metric measure Gleaming with flaming pride Beaming before the specters Sending a showering presence of warmth To complete the scene with its touch The flowers set to bloom Accomplished. © Samir Georges 2008 For my mother

From winter into spring. Hey, this actually fits the criteria for the winter adornment contest, in a way. She said the poem could be about the destruction of winter, and isn't spring its destruction?? thanks for reading Burrowing. I am in a cold snowy state and burrowing is about all we CAN do when it's unsafe to drive! And it's also so much fun!! andrea
