Set Me Free

My soul is in your hand,
this dark heart again prays,
just to turn back to sinning,
with no thoughts of changing.

Lead me, Lord, guide me!
only to take the other road
that leads away from You -
fool, fool, fool.

Down on my knees pleading,
seemingly deeply repenting,
yet when again back on my feet
returns surely to oblivion's way.

Often forgetting to remember
that I am nothing without You
but a worthless piece of crap
needing complete surrender.

Now on the day of your birth
this soul talks again to You -
lead me, Lord, guide me,
from sin, set me free.
