Set Me Free

Walk into my world for me
So that you can set me free
From these chains that bind me
I feel this cage is slowly killing me
I feel this cage is binding me
From the world, I want to live in
It's only you that can set me free
From these chains that bind me
Aren't you the one who told me
You would always Love me
If you could only set me free
From theses chains around my heart
You have been my divine protector
For all theses years so I thought
Though now you don't want to be
So now I ask of thee " set me free"
From theses chains that bind me
From theses chains around my heart
I promise you that I need to be set free
And only you can do this for me
I thought that we would always be
Walking through this world together
  Until we were done here
Looks like you are done with me
So please, please "set me free"!

When I read this I think also of the inner child speaking to the adult. It could also be the other person you sometimes have spoken about. In the end, who is the one in charge? I saw a therapist a number of years ago because I was one sick puppy at the time. I let that guy give me a bum steer. That was the pattern I had to break and I didn't realize that something was very wrong with that guy too. I haven't thought about this for some time, but your poetry is a resonator.

Gosh, what cad did this to you? Or is it all fiction, my friend? I am always writing stuff like this too and people think I am talking about myself for real!! This was great and I see it was featured a long time ago. Belated congrats on that.
