Serpentine
Snake
you convinced me with sweet words
to hop into your sharp, poison jaws
too late did I realize
after the venom began to take hold
as I slip away
and lose consciousness of everything that I was
and am
devoured, to sustain you
by becoming nothing myself
I give in,
and become nothing more than another meal swallowed with indifference
