Seriously
Seriously?
We're told - Peace be with you!
Are you being serious?
Have you seen the world out there,
Or have you been oblivious,
To all the strife and struggle,
To all the war and pain,
To the hatred and anger
And all the stress and strain.
There’s the poverty and sickness,
The hatred and the greed,.
All the fear and anguish
And the doubt, that’s all you need.
Again - Peace be with you?
It’s a bit mysterious
How we can be so shallow,
Apathetic and ridiculous,
If we really meant it
How different life could be
For the homeless and the hungry,
The oppressed and those in need.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful,
Oh, wouldn’t it be grand,
If instead, each one of us
Would simply lend a hand!
