Serene Evening
Have you ever wished to be able to capture a moment?
Not by the aid of photography
But by capturing and saving it in the memory that never gets full
For when you want to relive it you can just think about it
Then like a scene taken out from a fairytale
The scenery from that one moment captured in time can materialize
Like opening a wonderland door beaming in anticipation
Of once again getting lost in a world so tranquil
Away from the chaos that’s behind the door
Woke up drunk and groggy from a habitual long day’s nap
The sun was just setting
Longing to take in earth’s air
After being cooped up in the house all day
I strolled to the front door
Like a norm, always having me weak on my knees
Once again mother-nature didn’t fail me
I could smell it, taste it, hear it and feel it
The earthy breeze that greeted me at the door
It enticed me to step outside as if it were a host welcoming his guests in his humble home
I felt one with the wind as it caressed my florid cheeks and stroke my hair
So much tenderness and delicacy in its caress
Far into the distance in the heart of the city the faint sound of cars can be heard
Synchronized with the sway of leaves as they danced with the howling wind
And the chirping of crickets
A sweet serene and compelling melody was created
Face to face with the hypnosis
I let it all go and succumbed to the alluring siren like melody
I was ready to be a prisoner to such phenomenon
As I elegantly drifted around the compound
Swaying with the evening breeze
I never thought the evening could get any better than it were already is
I looked up to the sky still dimly lit by the last rays of the setting sun
It now wore its priceless evening jewelry
That flicked and sparkled as they blushed from my undiverted admiration gaze
I then saw them
In awe, for a brief moment in time it was like the earth came to a halt
Gosh I’d even forgot to breath for a split second
For my eyes were graced by such beautiful splendor
It hanged up there so majestically like a king amongst his followers
Though slim and incomplete its dominating illumination was intimidating
By its side was his loyal companion
He stood there with an angelic outline and captivating radiance oozing from him
It was the two evening princes ;the crescent moon and the star
Such a sight to see aint it
Now wouldn’t you agree with me when I say moments like this should be captured in memories that we can relive whenever we want with the indulgence of all our five senses?
