Sequence-Sonnet

Love's
little song-
three quatrains,
and couplet
long,
in
compact
verse and rhyme;
stands the test of
time-
with
light grace
poetry
in life,face to
face

I love this Lanterne sequence Sonnet. And Brian thanks for the help on the concluding Couplet. Smile. I've tried my luck on a single Lanterne. Check it out if you find the time. Sincerely, Moses

You remind us to try other forms....this is a wonderful example of a lanterne...I must start writing more variations in this new year. ~Best regards, Brian, Carrie

Have never written a Lanterne, Brian. Will have to soon! Looks a bit challenging but fun! I'll give it a try. Thanks again for the lesson, Brian. And thank you for your kind comments. Peace, Audrey

I have only written two, and both were of loss and regrets. Maybe that is why I have only written two. Most of my poetry, with the exception of concrete, sometimes not even that, are not pre-hought or planned. I just pour whatever comes out and then edit it. The example shown under poetry forms here at the soup are a prime example of what your sequence implies. You continue to teach and inspire. I thank you. Lainie

Interesting write about the sonnet. It sounds like it would be easy but none of them are easy. Writing poetry by strick method is not easy. Sara
