Sequence

Away
From sunshine
And scorching sand
Thirsty; seeking refuge
From heat

Flying
In earnest
To mountain slopes
In green; breathing the cool
Fresh air

I'll join you, from living in a beautiful state to moving down to a hot one, I want to go back to that beautiful state with the cool air, clear lakes and rivers, beautiful mountain views, and the fresh clean air. Blessings and a 7+++

Thank you Eve. We often tend to seek the opposite of what we have. A change, now and again, does us good. God bless. // paul

Excellent, Paul interesting how you would have to leave paradise for a change and relief from the heat to go on a holiday.

I just read what you told me. Now I realize what happened with me. In the US we do not typically use the word holiday for vacations. WE just say take a vacation and for me, holidays are the special days on the calender like Christmas, etc. Sorry about that. I have to remember other countries have different meanings for same words!!

No problem...nothing to be sorry about; it is just a matter of interpretation; we learn from each other about each other:) hmmmm:) I like that! // paul

Seems like you got the better end of the deal. A good hiking mountain with lots of streams sounds better than a hot desert. Your transition flowed very smoothly in this poem. Much enjoyed.

Thank you Timothy; some people like going to hot countries on holiday; for me it is usually the opposite...I look forward to a cooler temperature and change of scenery. // paul

Paul, this is really good, but you did what I did. You wrote about something not holidays. When I first saw the contest, I totally missed the part that the them was holidays. Go back and see. Unless I am going crazy , it should be there!! Good luck, I had to start over and do one on holidays.

My other one had nothing to do with holidays; this one speaks of taking a mountain holiday away from the sun in search of cooler weather; hope it makes sense. // paul
