(Entry for the September Falls Poetry Contest, submitted September 9, 2024 - Second Place)

Summer's twilight arrives in September.
Each day the warm weather abates and surrenders.
Placidly, the days follow a pattern:
The hues of autumn emerge with foliage that will turn
Emphatically splendid
Much the way Mother Nature intended.
Blowing breezes grow sharper and crisper.
Everywhere is susurrous with leaves that whisper.
Radiant sun still pervades as the winds get brisker.

Fortunately, there's still good weather to be had.
As autumnity approaches, one is never really sad.
Leaves begin layering one on top of another.
Landscapes transform with spectacular color.
September is truly a month like no other.

Dear Jim, I adore your first line "Summer's twilight arrives in September." - a nice play on words. Your poem's imagery is tender yet vibrant. Your last verse is equally impactful "September is truly a month like no other." - I wholeheartedly agree! Congratulations for your success in Andrea's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

How to put the first letters to each line of an Acrostic in Bold... I have sussed it now c/o Tom Cunningham. Before the first letter of each line.... angle bracket then b then close it with an angle bracket After the first letter of each line... angle bracket then b then forward slash then close it with an angle bracket. Then update poem.

good luck. I find even those instructions hard to follow!! It took me forever to learn all the stuff like using italics and centering. You use the same principles as Jim just said but instead of B, you would use em for italics and center for centering and do it at the very front of your text and at the very end.

Well done Jim, great September Acrostic. I am glad it isn't just me who doesn't know how to do bold letters!

Thank you, Martin. (I haven’t read yours yet but I promise I will!). Seems this issue with bold letters is a regular occurrence. I’ve had communication with at least 2 other Soupers about it.

I really loved your acrostic on September Sure wish you had bolded the first letters because that would have put you with the other first places! Congrats in my contest, Jim.

I would tell you how, but if you soupmail instructions to people, just using the instructions gets you thrown off Soup! Here is my email. Write me and I will teach you. It's very simple and they tell you how right there in the box: wordwarrior55@hotmail.com

Andrea, thank you very much for the placement. I appreciate it. I have to be honest: I don’t actually know how to bold the first letters when submitting a poem. I have tried several times with no luck. Nevertheless, I am glad you enjoyed the poem. Take care.
