Separate Is Not Equal

Separate is not Equal
                                     Authored by Chuck Keys

It is said,
that life must be one.

It is felt,
when we are parted apart.

Why must we learn to separate
on what is viewed together in the wind.

Do we equate our lives to others,
to separate can never be equal.

Who decides better may be at worst,
the eagle soars to new highs only as one.

Two tall man are standing, one is white, the other isn't,
both are tall, proud and great.

I like the theme of this poem and the essence of the words. The piece is right on point. The title has a great story to tell of the many struggles one has to bear. Great job! Joseph

Very insightful words from the pen of Chuck Keys and thought provoking couplet lines to ponder.. I hate separations yet they are a part of this life..why?? we don't as yet know why those we luv have to come and go... separation intensifies strength and promotes growth.. wisdom... maybe that is why... my youngest son of five left for Iraq earlier this year and the separation has been deeply felt yet we know and pray he will return.. makes us yearn for our loved one. with luv from the "Sweetheart"
