Author's Notes: This poem, entitled: "Sentiments of Love" is a Rhyme Royal poem that I wrote on February 19, 2015 for release in my new book of poetry. This poem speaks to the passion, emotions and love shared between two people. Normally this style of a seven-line stanza is written set to iambic pentameter, but in this instance, the second version I wrote was in varied meter, and was smoother and more descriptive and worked better with the ababbcc rhyme sequence, and so I decided to go with the varied meter approach for this particular write. Sentiments of Love
Our passion defines two loves now as one,
And what we share now is life’s great treasure!
Our emotions My Love burn hotter than any sun,
Ensuring that our rapture as two is such a pleasure,
And that a love so grand is truly beyond any measure!
When we stroll together—and talk, embrace, and kiss;
It’s like being in Heaven—something never to miss!
