Sense of Community

Has the age of individualism
So brandished, exaggerated, and barren
Run around of all purpose to cherish?

From all separatist stupidity
And bereft stitches of wild cruelty
Have we lost ourselves in blight?

The pursuit of wealth and mobility
Endless highways catching manic flight
The turbulence of ball blasted might

All the while dangling in the fire of the sun
Forgetting the soil the couches each lung
And each being carried by all others

It must be fundamental
orienting perspective in the light of hours
The bond of community nourishing all flowers

A writer of all, a master of none but...I know when I read a poem if I have enjoyed it. Now I have read yours and I have indeed enjoyed it Justin. I wish you a wonderful weekend and hope you find much inspiration to continue with your writing endeavors. Love, Carol
