send in the kid clown
No one in the ward seemed in good spirits
They were worn out from chemo
exhausted from doing nothing at all
looking forward to more nothing the next day
send in the kid clown, a doctor suggested
Kid clown was an enthusiastic volunteer
because she was a cancer survivor
so, she knew some of the feelings in the ward
the other doctors were arrogant
they did not know what a child would be able to do
until they sent her in, and saw for themselves
she lifted the children’s spirits, gave them hope; was their friend.
