Semijazz

The beat quickens here
we ride the wave
all is possible;
but after the crest
we return
to where we started.

I have no answer
to your silence
a reply in kind
only feeds the void,
yet my words ring
hollow.

Lost in a minor chord
the beat forgotten,
we play alone,
together,
to an empty room.

Excellent poem w/a cool title, sorta like a cherry on top, Dave. I really dig your style, it has bounce and verve. You do know how to tap someone's nerve. Your poetry makes me know that I'm alive. Great poetic art. Love and more love to you and yours.
