Selling the Drama

SELLING THE DRAMA

driven conversations
even I can clearly read
never want to fake it
I am tied to this
dream

the someday of a sound
a quirky clichéd phrase
two large coral pieces
pink.. attached to my
skull

gone are the mermaids from
out of my passionate grasp
sea-curdled clasps of a loss
none could ever clench or
know

I weep and you will excel
learn to disguise the pain
a restless shudder of mar
forces the mark of receipt
waged
