Self-Existent Light Poetry Contest

Where has all the illuminating light fled
Is as if I have long ago been dead
I have awakened to blinding darkness
I hear no more, no sound, only deafness
O'lord come back my heavy heart so grieves
This blackness this tragedy will it leave
Help me, help me, life has no meaning now
The pasture out back is full of dead cows
O' dear light, my love will you please return
I am dying, all my body now burns
I bow in a much needed prayer now
Please my God, please, please again show me how

Suddenly the clouds part, our dear Lord speaks.
Fear not, for Heaven, I will give you a peak.

Yes, only the Lord can intensify that light within us when it dims . . . and dims some more! Very expressive and deeply spiritual, Robert. Janice

Thank you, my friend. So true, our Lord can intensify the light to an astronomical brilliance. God bless,,,

Robert, with expertly conveyed imagery and profound insight, you poetically expresses the ache of a heavy heart, yearning for the return of a divine presence. The darkness and tragedy that loom overhead seem insurmountable, leaving one to question the very meaning of life itself. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you, my good friend. Yes, that was exactly the emotions I was shooting for my friend. The despair, the absolute anguish and that seeing ones past and finally how much wrong one may have done. That abject darkness without a ray of light. Thank God we have a choice and can alter that life. God bless..To truly appreciate the- good-- one must know about the dark, the bad, eh?
