Self-Esteem! Good Or Bad?

Look away.
Turn your head.
Don’t look at me,
For I’m not worth looking at.
Don’t put me in your pity.
Don’t feel sorry for me,
For I’m not worth that either.

I have bad self-esteem,
     But in my dreams,
     Do I realize,
     That I could have a good self-esteem.

Take me in as your friend.
I will not betray you.
I feel good about myself.
I don’t need or want,
     To look like anyone special.
I feel I look good in my own style.

This is only in my dreams.
I might act differently in public,
But inside I feel like I need,
To hide in a dark room.
Inside I am full of:
     Jealousy,
     Anger,
     Sadness,
     Loneliness,
     And depression.
