Seek Shelter
Another lonely night.
Shallow buzz of cars passing by reminds me the world is awake,
Though my mind fights to claim otherwise
A path lighted my moon glow.
Door locked,
I have never found the key.
My energy is antsy but my mind, my feet stay planted in apprehension
I shrink into the smallest version of myself,
The one I feel most at home with.
The one most comfortable with no passing glances.
Sadness seeps through the cracks I swore I'd repaired.
Silence screams so loud I can almost hear it,
And darkness hugs me like a friend.
