Seeing Pleasant Grove In November

(A double etheree)

I
took the
“scenic route”
home through my town
today, driving down
streets unknown to me and
some I’d driven down before
but now could barely recognize-
so many new houses had sprung up!
Guided by instinct, I turned onto streets.
Mostly I guessed wrong on my directions!
What charming homes line those clean broad roads;
how gorgeous are autumn’s colors
all around; different from in
spring (when nature blooms) and
yet - no less lovely!
In fall’s dying,
what beauty
lingers
here.

There is something about your street that is similar to Frost' woods, but without his foreboding. And only because death was a prohibition to Frost, but a beauty to you ... almost Keatsian in tone: what beauty lingers here. I love it.

Amazingly beautiful Poem. The route, which you followed to reach your destination, appears to be peeping from your Poem. The last lines from How gorgeous ...... lingers here are extremely beautiful reminding the colors of the seasons as sketched by you. Love and best wishes always....Ravindra..... Andrea Dietrich

This is a beautiful Double Etheree, Andrea. We all should take the scenic route once in a while to absorb the beauty around us.

I sure enjoyed riding along on that scenic route you took, Andrea-- :) I can only imagine the pretty colors that autumn can bring and hmm I suppose there could very well be a metaphor on about change in this etheree too? Enjoyed this double etheree of yours, this sure is one of your fortes ;) -- hugs to you-- nikko :)
