Seeds To Grow

Mystery seeds that came for me
What will they grow, what will they be
Sunflower stalks that catch the sun
And brightly bloom for everyone
Or maybe lots of lilac trees
That blossom for the birds and bees

I'll plant them in the dawn's sweet light
When all the world is clean and bright
Before the dew has disappeared
And garden ground is gently cleared
With tender care my seeds will sprout
And soon dispel my days of doubt

How wonderful these seeds to grow
The mystery I long to know!

I love the seed gifts the birds sometimes leave me. Some of the seeds have turned out to be beautiful plants. I like to think it is there way of saying thank you for feeding them through the winter months. At times they do tend to 'gift' my washing when it is out which I am not so keen on lol. Enjoyed another one of your wonderful poems Bryan and a very belated congratulations on your win. Emilia : )

Bryan, I love the way you create the hopeful expectation of waiting for your seeds to sprout! Congratulations on your win in the contest! Best wishes, Carolyn
