See Me Cry

. for public domain Song, furtive, plaintive I thought to ask you an earnest question when I looked to see you passing by. I saw the frown on your face had you down. I turned away so you would not see me cry. You would not see me cry! You would not see me cry! You would not see me cry! Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. No, no, no. Just one of many faces on the street, a pleasant memory in dull time passing by. A cardboard box, no shoes upon my feet. I turned away so you would not see me cry. You would not see me cry! You would not see me cry! You would not see me cry! Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. No, no, no. Another night in alleys off the street, I saw you once again and caught your eye. You flipped a smile at me, ever so discreet. I turned away so you would not see me cry. You would not see me cry! You would not see me cry! You would not see me cry! Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. No, no, no.
