Seduction of Sorrow
and who said we are sober,
we so often swim deep within
the swirling currents
of wasted thought
to ruminate
on our heartache and despair
we become intoxicated
by the scent
of our own displeasure
and what we consider
unfair
we readily abandon solace
and instead,
paralyze our thoughts
on fractured expectations and fear
captivated by our own darkness
we wade further..
we
must
admit
to
that sweet seduction of sorrow
we seek
as we fixate
on savoring pleasure
in the sadness
lingering there
we fixate on the madness
we fixate on the pain
It’s the sweet inhale of dissatisfaction
that we cannot abstain
