Secrets and Friendship

Tell me a secret that will raise my spirit
Whisper it softly so no one else can hear it,
And I will feel so special you have confided
More so, because in your heart you decided
I was someone you can trust with your heart,
And I will protect it, my love is off the chart
Trust is so special, it’s such a marvelous art
What more can friends to each other impart,
Friendship must never be a thing one-sided
Or it will limp along and become lopsided,
And limping long enough, friendship can quit
So, whisper a secret that will raise my spirit.

Excellent poem, Milt. Having a buddy to depend on is a gift. Patience was essential, but not bitterness. And if pushed to the extreme, we'll win.

This is so incredibly penned. I take my hat off to you and Trixie is waving her baton. (The lighted one).

Friendship is a great thing. I found a best friend by taking it slow and being slow to anger, not letting it fester. We were tested and survived. We can pick up conversations anytime. Blessed when you find a BFF! Enjoyed your poem, dear one!

Indeed. And, I must add, sometimes it is hard to develop that trust these days. It can be a very slow, arduous endeavor, but so rewarding when it comes to fruition.
