Secret Facades

Costumes we wear
Tell but a small tidbit
Of our story

Facial masks
Easily masquerading
Keeping our facade to ourselves

Enthusiasm however cannot be hidden
Generates optimism, inspires hope
To those who are ready to take off their masks and live

Façades are sometimes necessary to safeguard things better left hidden. But most are used to conceal ugly things, eyesores in particular. When they do they serve a useul purpose. Thanks for commenting on my work, Karen. / M
