Secret Diary

Your secrets safe with me
Because no one would believe
No where which to turn
No one to which to run

I whisper to my diary
Careful you do not hear
Because my diary sweetly promised
To never tell on me

As I desperately cry into the page
I close the book as you come again
All your secrets that I've kept
Safe close by as more secrets made

I close my mind
When you are here
My thoughts distant
You're not there

I see you in another room
Doing to another
What you promised you would do
Which you will do forever
Somewhere deep inside to me

I'm cold as all that is me
Leaves to escape your touch
I'm walking through fields
Laying in the sun
Splashing in the water
Laughing with someone...

As someone turns back into you
You leave my room
I find my confidant hidden beneath my pillow
The ink in my pen replaced
By all I could not see
By all you said no one will believe

My diary locked
But never closed
As memories
Flick through the pages
And struggle with what they hold

Your secrets safe
But never sound
With trust holding the key
Which will one day believe me.
