Secret

I would give you my heart,
But it's already been won.
I would hold your hand,
But you're not the one.
I want you in my life,
But it would never work.
I could never be yours,
Suspicion would always lurk.
Although I know that
Life with you could be great,
It would cause too much trouble...
Love would transform into hate.
All we'll ever have
Is the anonymous night.
There's too much controversy,
And I'm not willing to fight.
So let's keep our little secret,
And love will never bloom.
I know it's for the best,
Condemning myself to gloom.
