Second Chances

She was a shooting star falling across the sky so bright the only one who couldn’t see her potential was herself So her star fell and eventually died because there was no faith to give her wings the air to fly Pessimistic thoughts choking on optimism and throwing it away Thinking who would ever invent such a lie as love As she gave herself up to his arms hearts perfectly fitting between bodies, and at that moment she knew it was too good to be true The relationship was a match lit two seconds ago so she knew goodbye was coming soon He then let go of their embrace at the same time leaving her heart behind But all he left was the body of her heart; he took the soul which encompassed her love So she found herself in the doctor’s office to get her chest opened and love tattooed on her heart A surgical procedure for the pain, pain from the love stains Nonetheless, the ink that now made up her soul allowed her to give love a second chance p.s. a heart is just an annoying beat without loves seed…

Food for thought indeed, Post Script! An unusual but appealing piece of prose! My best regards. :) john P.s A seven for a daring and original approach.
