Second By Second

Second by second
Minute by minute
Hour by hour
Our lives tick away

What are we doing?

Living life to the fullest
Or merely
Plodding along
Hypnotized binge watching
In a stupor
On the couch all day
Or multi-tasking
Many irons in the fire
Go, go, go
Tired in the morning
Tired at night
Before we know it
We are at death's door

For what?

To reach a goal
To show the world
Who we are?
And what we got?
Instant gratification?
Stop the insanity!

Save as many seconds
As many minutes
As many hours
As you can
And spend them
On your family
Your friends
Your loves
Your God

And you will find
True happiness
Less regrets
When we reach
Death's door
