Seattle

Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: Seattle
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan

Heaven is at
   the end
of a rainbow
   In a place
called Seattle -

"The Emerald City,"
as it's crowned,
   on the edge
of the
   Puget Sound -

    This is heaven,
shrouded in mist
    against
tall buildings,
    and
 ships
    that moors
upon the Sound -

     Yes,
It rain's
     and
rain's,
     and
rain's -

     And
some proclaim
     that the rain
never stops -

     Yet,
when it does
     a thousand colors
cascade's
     the dreary sky -

This must be
      a place
where angels fly,
      at the end
of rainbows
      in a place
called Seattle -

      This is truly
a water town,
       all dressed up
in rain slickers
       rain boots
and
       umbrellas

A jewel
       tucked away
on the Great
       Pacific North West
Coast -

Where the sun
        Is not necessary
It's going to
        Rain -
