Seasons of Me

Spring still knows me
Out, about and carefree,
Wandering a flower bed
Nurturing the blooms ahead

Summer does not see
Very much of me,
Hiding behind the shades
Until the heat fades

Autumn knows me well
Standing where leaves fell,
Kicking them all around
Wherever I am found

Winter, too, will see
Little more of me,
Crunching on icy flakes
A million smiles makes.

Kelly - what I really find quite delightful about this is the gentle personification and the lovely description in poetic rhyme (always my favourite). It is sweet and clean. A beautiful testament to the natural seasons of the human heart. (fav)

I LOVED THIS! It was cute rhyming and put me in it's mood. It's simplicity made it more enjoyable by not taking up most of my day with useless word salads. And I traveled with it and spoke it to myself. Good job!

That's a lilting poem of seasons and it brings to mind how hot summer can be. I'm in agreement.

Thank you for the kind words, Hilda... Summer is my least favorite season, but I do enjoy it's cool night breezes, fireflies and thunderstorms :)

Dearest Kelly, Your poem dances beautifully through the year! Each verse captures your unique connection to a season. Spring's carefree spirit blooming with your touch, retreating from summer's heat, chasing autumn leaves, and finding joy in winter's crunch—you paint a heartfelt portrait of nature's embrace. Loved it! - Daniel
