Seasons Fade

When that farmer Spring timely plants her seed in her breast forms a soft fragile vase seasoned over with sun and rain take heed young Flora grows hopeful in a secret place. Summer tills where doubt before had grown watered with passion petals unfold in the heat youth inhaling the scent that’s sown senses not cool evening’s breath on Augusts’ sweet. abrupt Fall comes in to shake the boughs of fruit and my heart’s murmur feels too soon a tune cruel Winter playing upon a frigid flute an epitaph scribbled on soft petals too soon. As seasons fade flowers blossom then die away expel their breath to sing another day. (click on the pic to preview my poetry book!)

Thanks so much Regina. Nature is a very common theme within my poetry. It affects me deeply in all its splendors.

The personification so amazing, I did not notice at first it was also a sonnet. Wow!

Hi Rob, I am a sonnet lover and will try to check out your other sonnets in the coming weeks. This is very lovely in its imagery of winter to spring transition. I especially liked the lines " young Flora grows hopeful in a secret place" and "cruel Winter playing upon a frigid flute". Quite a talent you have. If I haven't already said it, welcome to Poetry Soup ~ John

Thank you kindly John. I wrote this sonnet as a metaphor for the passing and rebirth of love. I tried to use the seasons to express that theme. I'm grateful for your thoughtful coents.
